Parent & Child Dedication happens twice a year, in the spring and fall. If you’re interested in participating, contact Rebecca at 327-0445, or watch your WEEKLY and cyberTHREAD for sign-up details closer to the date.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Helping your kids discover a relationship with Christ… wow, is there ever a reality that is more intimidating… or more exciting?!? Here at Threads, we look forward to partnering with you, to encourage and strengthen you in the role you have been given by God. Our kids need us! So, as we approach our Child Dedication, here are some things to consider.

This special moment is more about a dedication of Parents than it is of the Children. Our kids are precious and, as parents, we have the awesome responsibility of raising kids who love God and others. You have been given a very small window of opportunity to affect and influence them to become lovers and followers of Jesus. Our God, the Heavenly Father, wants so desperately to provide us with the strength, encouragement, love and wisdom we need to accomplish this. How exciting to know that we are not on this journey alone?

Before the big event we ask that you complete the following steps to prepare for the Child Dedication. Because again, at our Child Dedication, we are not dedicating the children as much as we are dedicating the parents. And by participating in this event, you are publicly saying that you want to raise your kids in a home that’s attempting to follow Jesus 24/7… and that you are asking God’s blessing as you point your kids toward Jesus.

I hope this excites and motivates you to complete these steps and look forward to a powerful day! It is a very moving experience to “go public” as a parent who is seeking Christ.

A parent on the journey,

The Steps

STEP 1) Listen to the provided Parenting Talks and complete the homework. (Resources are below.)

This is an important first step in the process because we want to inspire you to invest in the things that will matter the most to your child’s future. Whether you’re just starting your parenting journey with a new baby or making this commitment for the first time with an older child… this is a great first step for you and your child.

STEP 2) Attend the Parent Orientation.

The Parent Orientation will be after the gathering one week prior to the Dedication. Attending this orientation will confirm your plan to participate in the actual Parent & Child Dedication.

At this orientation, we will discuss both questions and reactions to the parent talks and homework, plus give you some of the last “need to knows” about our Child Dedication.

STEP 3) Let’s Celebrate!

That’s right! The last step in the process is to participate in the Child Dedication. We are planning a meaningful and memorable celebration for you and your family.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Rebecca Bell at 269.327.0045 or by email.
