At Threads we do not have a Christmas Eve or Day worship gathering, encouraging all to spend the holiday with their families. We hope and pray that you will center around God’s story, the true meaning of the holiday, and urge you to take time at some point in your Christmas Eve or Christmas Day family traditions to tell the story and talk about it together.
In order to resource you in this, we offer the following guide for a 20-30 minute worship gathering in your own home. Feel free to add or adapt and create your own meaningful traditions. If someone can lead a song or two with piano or guitar – great! Wrap up in a blanket together and know you are cherished and loved children of God. Light a candle as you read the story and blow it out as you finish your time together. The important thing is to create a space for worship to help center our families on the story of Jesus’ birth.
If you don’t already own a copy of the Jesus Storybook Bible, we have made the Christmas story available to you online at our website. Just go to www.ThreadsChurch.org and click The Latest/ Spiritual Talks from the home page menu. From there, you’ll be taken to our I’m Dreaming of a Black and White Christmas recordings, where you’ll see “Christmas Worship Resource.” Click the RESOURCES button and download the story.
