Hope for the Nations

WHY?

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. - Romans 15:13

From Series: "WHY?"

What do you do when your world falls apart? What’s the faithful response to injustice and heartache? The book of Lamentations is a rarely-read treasure - a book of raw emotion coming from the darkest of places in the aftermath of personal and national disaster - the fall of Jerusalem in 587 BC, including the destruction of the temple and the death and exile that followed. Remarkably, this book is written with deliberate care and attention to detail and structure. The Poet lived with this hurt, crafted an expression of dark beauty to offer God and to give voice to the pain of his people. What would it mean for us to take the pain of the people in our community and our moment in history and give it voice? What if we took the brokenness in, lived with it, shaped it and offered it to God and invite hurting people to join their voices as we together cry out for justice and healing and change?
