What We Believe and How We Live

What We Believe

We believe that the Bible is the faithful and authoritative Word of God, revealing who God is and who we are. The Story recorded in the Bible is the true story of the world and we find our identity and purpose in it.

We summarize the grand story of the Bible with the following six circles that represent the major chapters of God’s Story.

We believe that the Apostle’s Creed is a faithful summary of what the Bible teaches, accepted by Christ’s followers throughout history and around the world.

How We Live

In addition to committing to certain core beliefs (as recorded in the Bible, and faithfully summarized in the Apostle’s Creed), we also believe that we are called to live a certain way, the way of Jesus. We are to be a distinct and set apart people in the world, living as a contrast to society. Our shared practices are what we’ve identified as the essential elements of life in the way of Jesus, what all Christ followers should be engaged in.

These practices are all rooted in who God is, and what He is doing in our lives and in the world. The Holy Spirit is working in us to help us become more like Jesus as we engage in these practices. God calls us to live these practices out in a variety of specific ways, depending on our own unique personality, circumstances and season of life.
